About Zan Passante
As an accomplished director, writer, producer, songwriter and creator, Zan Passante, has notably contributed his array of talents to the music, marketing, TV and film industries.
In 2001, Zan relocated to Los Angeles to channel his creative energy into producing branded content for major global brands such as Nestlé USA, General Mills, and Post. He also produced award-winning commercials for products like NutriBullet and the Humane Society. His versatility has led him to work as a production manager, writer, producer, and director for industry leaders including Warner Bros. Discovery and Disney. Additionally, Zan was nominated for two MTV Movie Awards for his comedic short film spoofs, which he wrote, directed, and produced. One of his standout projects, “Grass Court,” a spot he co-directed, wrote, and produced for Converse, was featured in AdWeek and aired on MTV, Spike TV, and USA Network.
Zan spent several years on the agency side, where he led creative initiatives in the branded content space as Executive Producer of the digital division at the renowned meat and potatoes, a multi-award-winning LA-based agency. There, he produced standout campaigns for Hard Rock Hotel, Campari, and SKYY Vodka, and directed music videos for Sammy Hagar’s supergroup, Chickenfoot. His memorable chicken costume from the “Big Foot” music video is now part of Hard Rock Hotel - Tahoe’s iconic memorabilia collection.
Since 2019, Zan has had the privilege of writing and producing branded content for Warner Bros. Discovery. Under the Branded Entertainment banner for HGTV, Travel Channel, and ID, he has crafted short-form spots for top clients such as Lowe’s, Dreamworks, Walmart, The Home Depot, Universal Pictures, Disney, Subaru, DirecTV, Wayfair and Mattel.
Outside of his professional achievements, Zan is a passionate guitarist and an accomplished songwriter, with several sync licenses and cuts to his credit. He also co-wrote an animated Christmas musical with his best friend, the highly acclaimed composer, Mark T. Williams. Their project is currently in development and has gained notable industry attention. Zan lives in Los Angeles with his wife, a recognized entertaining expert, and their two sons, whom he considers his greatest productions to date.
